Paradox

Isaiah 55:8-9 says: 8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Christ illustrates this with different paradoxical statements that seem contradictory at first glance. But, when we probe deeper, we see that his words are full of life. Self-denial, humility and sacrifice seem like no way to live. It’s not anything that we would want to sign up for on our own, but this is the way of our Master; and a way that leads to life in the fullest.
